Is Salad Legit? Salad.com Review

Salad.com and Salad.io – are they legit?

So you might have heard of salad.com, either from a YouTube video recommending it or perhaps even an advertisement. It almost sounds too good to be true – let’s find out if it’s legit or not.

For the uninitiated, Salad.com is a company which pairs companies who need computing power with gamers who have the hardware they are looking for. The gamers, or “salad chefs”, join a large network of other computers and work together on performing the work, all while you are away from your computer. You can run it overnight, or even whilst you are at work. Sounds good right?

What is Salad.com?

Salad.com, or Salad.io, is a cryptocurrency mining company. In essence, they pair people who need computational power (which your gaming PC is good at) with people who have that power, and then pay the computer owners a fee for their service.

The users, which are known as salad chefs, are generally gamers who have powerful rigs which can be used for using to perform massive calculations.

All you need to know is that you can get paid from leaving your computer on whilst you’re AFK.

So, Is Salad Legit?

Yes, salad is legit. The amount you can earn may be a little less than you might have expected, but their software does work, and you can get paid. over 50,000 “salad chefs” have joined their Discord server, which is worth giving a read if you would like an idea of what sort of money you can expect to earn from running Salad’s software overnight.

The legitimacy of their software is backed up by the fact that they have a 4.3 rating on TrustPilot. Their software is not a virus and they are a fully legitimate company, so you don’t need to worry about whether installing their app on your PC is safe.

How Does Salad Pay Out?

There are a few options for getting you payment rewards, and this is where it becomes clear that their main user base happens to be gamers. You can either withdraw you balance to PayPal, or instead opt to cash out via a range of gift cards for gamers, including Steam games and Discord Nitro. These are available on the salad storefront.

What Does Salad’s Software Actually Do?

By installing Salad, you are letting businesses and researchers make use of your computer’s power for a their needs. You are basically joining a large network of other computers, which can work together on problems. Don’t worry, you don’t need to get involved in the deep details of what’s going on, you can simply run the app and get paid.

Why Do People Think Salad Is a Scam?

The idea of “free money” raises alarm bells for many cautious people, and it should. The main reason that businesses like this have gotten a bad reputation over the last few years is thanks to the countless crypto scams out there which claim to do a very similar thing. Luckily, Salad isn’t like that, and have had a pretty immaculate track record for playing by the rules for multiple years at this point.

How Much Can I Make From Salad.com?

This depends widely on what kind of PC you have. The highest paid Salad Chefs tend to have top-end computers with high end GPUs, such as the RTX 4090. Generally, offering up your GPU pays a whole lot more than your CPU, so if you have a standard non-gaming laptop you probably won’t earn much to be honest.

On the other hand, some salad chefs with beefy PCs have been known to make over $0.30 per hour, which would amount to more than $200 per month (if running 24/7). There are also reports of chefs with brilliant hardware earning just pennies per day, so it’s clear that the earnings potential may also come down to how much work is actually available at any time. As their subreddit suggests, it does appear that sometimes there are times where there isn’t much demand for computing power, which may explain the lower earnings some users report.

In summary, there is no guarantee or clear answer as to how much you are likely to make while using salad.com, as it varies a lot from week to week. The best thing to do if you are still curious is install it and see how much you make.

Is CPU or GPU Mining More Profitable On Salad?

A majority of users find that offering up their graphics card, or GPU, tends to be a lot more profitable than their CPU, so if you have a PC which has been built specifically with gaming in mind, you’re in luck. On the other hand, if you have a “normal” computer you may end up earning considerably less than those who have significantly more powerful hardware.

This hardware does of course come at a cost though, if you are thinking of upgrading. I wouldn’t personally go out and spend a load of money on upgrading your PC if the only reason is to try and earn more money from Salad, as it’s a risky investment and there is no guarantee you will make your money back. It’s made pretty clear on their site that a vast majority of salad chefs didn’t buy their hardware solely to earn money from Salad, and already had their computer for gaming and other stuff anyway.

Conclusion – is Salad Legit, and Is It Worth Installing?

I can conclusively say that Salad is a legit company, and you do not need to worry about installing their software. Whether or not you feel it’s worth it is up to you and depends on your financial situation. If you’re a teenager without a job then an extra few dollars to spend on games is probably worth it.

On the other hand, if you earn reasonable money and factor in the electricity costs, it may not be worth it for you, it all depends on your financial situation and how much money it takes for a venture to be worthwhile to you. Luckily, you probably already have the gaming PC so there is likely not to be any cost for you to give it a try.

So, what do you think? Is Salad.com worth it in your opinion? Why not leave a comment below and let everyone else know how you have found it.
